Monica Meira Vasques, Conductor

 

Born in São Paulo, Brazil • Studies of Conducting with Prof. Thomas Ungar at the National University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart • Conducting Master classes with Prof. Helmuth Rilling in Stuttgart, Eugene (USA) and Caracas (Venezuela) • Awarded in Brazil because of her activities as Director of the Bach Society São Paulo • International experience as guest conductor • 2000-2004: Conductor of the Symphony Orchestra "Filderharmonie" • 2001-2006: Foundation and Direction of the Academy Choir and the Academy Orchestra Stuttgart • Conductor of the Premiere of the German-Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (Jerusalem, September 2006) with further concerts in the Beethoven Hall in Stuttgart (October 2006) and in the Cathedral of Berlin (November 2006) • 2007: Foundation of the "ensemble b-a-c-h stuttgart" with realization of 7 projects and the Choir „Laudamus Te" • 2008: concerts in Israel at the beginning of May for women's choir, together with Laudamus Te and the Jerusalem Oratorio Choir • 2007/2008: Guest at the rehearsals of Sir Roger Norrington (Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart).
